Q: It is your first high school homecoming experience this year. What homecoming activity are you looking forward to the most?
A:“I’m looking forward to the parade. Mainly because I’ve never been in a parade before, so it should be a lot of fun.”

Annie Koester

Q: Homecoming marks your very first high school dance. What are your expectations for this event that is so highly spoken of?
A:“I’m really excited for the dance. I expect it to be a lot like formal, where we are all just together having fun.”

Q: Spirit week is approaching, do you have any ideas for what you’re going to dress up like for these events?
A:“I’m kind of looking forward to clown day. I have this clown hat, so I’m thinking about wearing that. I’ll probably dress in orange and black too.”

Elizabeth Thomas

Q: Last year was your first homecoming dance, did it live up to your expectations?
A:“It definitely did. I liked the dancing, and they played some good music. Being with my friends and just hanging out all night was a good time.”

Q: Did you have any idea that people voted for you? Was it surprising when you won?
A:“I had no clue whatsoever until about two minutes after the elections were over. I went to another classroom to talk with the teacher, and I had a group of people come up to me and tell me they all voted for me. Then I went back into my own classroom and everyone told me they voted for me too. So that was a surprise.”

Alyssa Branoff

Q: A lot of your friend were campaigning for you to be on court. How did that idea come about?
A:“I didn’t tell them to do it, they just did it on their own. I thought it was really nice that they thought I deserved to be on court, and I was actually really surprised that I ended up winning. I have really great friends for doing that for me, though, I don’t think I could have won without them.”

Homecoming King Nominees

Josh

Josh Tobias

Q: In all four years of homecoming, what has been your favorite part?
A:“I’ve never gone to the dance, but I have always had a lot of fun at the football games. The pep rallies are usually interesting, too.”

Brady

Brady Hocevar

Q: How will you make your last homecoming week the best one yet?
A:“I’m going to make it memorable by finding the girl of my dreams, and maybe asking her to marry me. I dont know yet, though, I’ll see how it all plays out. I will probably know by Friday at the pep assembly.”

JACKNEW

Jack Kennings

Q: This year’s theme is carnival, and one of the spirit day themes is clown day. What will you be wearing on clown day?
A:“I’m going to steal Logan Palmer’s silk shorts, headband, and Pistons jersey. He gets lots of females so I’m going to try to dress like him to get girls. I like girls.”

ZACKNEW

Zack Kostka

Q: If you could campaign to win homecoming king, what would your strategy be?
A:“If I could campaign I would start off by talking to girls, of course. I could get all the girls and they would vote for me, and I’d obviously win. I could go for the guys, but they wouldn’t like me in the same way because I’m too attractive and have facial hair. My campaign slogan, which would be simple and effective, would be ‘I’ll just kill two birds with one stone.’”

Connor

Connor Kovacs

Q: What is one thing you would like to tell all the people who voted you onto court?
A:“I’d like to thank all the people who voted for me. Feel free to give me a call or shoot me a text about your day. I have talked to many more girls thanks to all of you. Ciao.”

Homecoming Queen Nominees

Claire

Claire Wielichowski

Q: As the twirler in the marching band, how do you feel the atmosphere and performance the band puts on for homecoming is different from other football games?
A:“It is different because usually the show is to entertain the people, but for homecoming it is more of a tribute to those people on homecoming court. I won’t be twirling this year, though.”

LYDIANEW

Lydia Berkey

Q: As the school president, you have had to coordinate and plan many things for homecoming. What kind of work goes into this? Is it exciting to get to be a part of all the events considering you are on court this year?
A:“Planning for homecoming is a lot of work, but also a lot of fun to plan the pep assembly and the parade. It’s nice to be on the other side of that, too. I didn’t expect that. It was nice of people to vote for me.”

Jessie

Jessi Muhleck

Q: What dress will you be wearing for the homecoming parade?
A:“It is strapless, and sort of flow-ey. It is also a mint green, sea green color.”

Brennan

Brennan Sullivan

Q: Which homecoming court event that you get to take part in are you most excited for?
A:“I’m most excited to ride in the parade and wave to all my friends and family as we ride through downtown. Also, I’m happy because I get to ride in a convertible with one of my good friends, Connor Kovacs.”

Sam

Sam Curiak

Q: What has been the best spirit day of your high school experience?
A:“Twin day sophomore year, Jessi Muhleck and I went to goodwill and bought matching shirts, suspenders, and bowties. The looks we got in the hallway together were priceless.”
