Originality, creativity and supporting the locals is just a glimpse of what the State Road Elementary Craft show has to offer. In just one day, this event will take place at FHS.

“This is the 39th year of the craft show.” First Chair Kathy Maier said. “We host 189 venders and it is State Road’s largest fundraiser.”

The craft show is from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. There is hard dedication that goes into the craft show early on from everyone.

“We prepare year round,” First Chair Pam Crawford said. “We begin having monthly meetings in August through November. The vendors usually aren’t students but we do require goods are handcrafted.”

Stores can be hectic this year, not to mention supplies run out. But at the craft show, crafts range from baked goods to gifts for the holidays for family and friends. The wide variety includes things like jewelry, hand made decorations, and ornaments.

“There’s something for the whole family,” Crawford said. “We do have a vendor selling fresh kettle corn outside, and the rest are the usual craft items. Plus we have Beale Street, Leo’s Coney Island. Culvers and Hungry Howie’s selling lunch items in the cafeteria from 11-3 pm.”

100 percent of the proceeds go to State Road. With all the volunteers and success in the past, the craft show should have a good turn out.
