As the fall sports come to an end, it is time for the winter sports to pick up. The bowling team is preparing to start its season by having tryouts at Holly Lanes. The tryouts are open to all high school boys and girls. It will be starting at 3 p.m. and will be ending around 5 p.m.

“The tryouts are for all FHS students,” bowling coach Lisa Keith says. “However, they must have a current physical prior to tryouts.”

There are spots open that need to be filled. There is room for four more boys and three more girls.

“I would like to add each team will consist of 7 boys and 7 girls so you see we have openings for new athletes,” Keith said. “The matches are fun and exciting. Tryouts are Nov. 15 and 16 at Holly Lanes from 3-5.”

“I’m hopeful we will have a great season,” Keith says. “The new bowlers that make the teams will be joining the three boys and four girls we have returning.”

This year there are some returning players, which includes captain Alex Keith.

“Our returning bowlers have faced some challenging matches in the past few years which will serve them well for this season,” Alex Keith says. “They have spent numerous hours practicing and I have seen a lot of improvement in their skill level.”
