“I started going to Camp Copneconic every summer when I was seven,” Alderson said. “Camp is a safe place I feel like any kid could go and they could have a really hard life and for a whole week in the summer they can go to a really happy and accepting place, so no one feels out of place. Its extremely important for younger kids because if they don’t have a place at home that accepts them then this is there for them. It’s a non-profit so kids there are intercity kids who can go for free, and I think this is really important because intercity kids might not have the best life at home. I was a counselor in training this summer and I want to work there next summer. I feel like everyone should go, summer camp is the place for everybody.”
