Looking back on childhood fads

Looking back at childhood memories, there were always those toys or accessories that were everyone’s favorites. When people think about their childhood, they are instantly reminded of these childhood fads and memories.

1: Fidget spinners 

In 2017, fidget spinners became very popular amongst kids. Fidget spinners are labeled as gadgets who can help with ADHD, autism, stress and anxiety. Kids were known to bring these to school to help them focus in class and sometimes even distract them from class as well.

2: Pokémon cards 

Pokémon cards were first introduced in 1996 as a card game, but later in 1999 became popularized as trading cards. Kids would get together with friends and trade and play with their pokémon cards. These cards can be found on eBay, but some are worth a lot of money and can be a pricey purchase.

3: Rainbow loom bracelets 

Early in 2010, rainbow loom bracelets became very popular. Rubber band jewelry was something everyone seemed to have kids would experiment and make rings, bracelets and even necklaces. People would buy charms to spice up their jewelry even more. These bracelets started out simple and then as time went on people would look up how to make even harder designs on YouTube.  

4: The Cinnamon Challenge 

In 2001, people thought it would be a fun idea to try and eat a spoonful of cinnamon under 60 seconds, with no water. This was one of the most horrifying challenges that landed people in the hospitals. It turned out that swallowing a spoonful of dry ground cinnamon is very dangerous and doctors started warning people to not take part in this challenge. 

5: Silly Bandz 

Silly bandz were first sold online in 2008 but in 2010 they became even more popular. Children across the country were in love with these shape changing colorful bands. The bands were simple and affordable for the kids and parents.
