FHS Swim and Dive Coach Brad Jones was recently added to the Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame. On Sept. 17, Jones and 12 other coaches from all over the state were recognized for their hard work and dedication to their respective teams. Candidates must be nominated by the executive board of the State Coaches Association to be considered for entry into the Hall of Fame.
“It is certainly a tremendous honor to be recognized among other incredible coaches,” Jones said.
His passion for swim spans 33 years. During that time, he has impacted the lives of countless young athletes by not only teaching proper swim techniques for the various strokes but also emphasizing how hard work and dedication lead to success both in athletics and in life.
“I certainly have a passion for the sport and the type of athletes that we get every year. I love being around hard-working athletes who are motivated and dedicated,” Jones said.
Throughout Jones’ tenure at Fenton High, his program has produced numerous collegiate swimmers and State Champions, including 2023 dual state champ Max Haney.
Fenton Boys Swim and Dive have won 12 consecutive Flint Metro League titles, while the girls have won an impressive 19 straight titles. This is not a coincidence and is a testament to Coach Jones’s dedication and excellence in his craft.
