For thousands of people across America, fall means two things—coffee and pumpkins. It has been nearly two months since the highly anticipated release of Starbucks and Dunkin’ fall menus. These menus consist of returning drinks, which many have already tried, and brand new drinks, which many are very excited to try.
Pumpkin or apple? Chai or latte? Hot or cold? The options are seemingly endless. But the real question is—which fall menu is better: Starbucks or Dunkin’?
On Aug. 22, Starbucks released their yearly fall drinks: Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Pumpkin Chai, Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte, Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai, Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato and Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. Starbucks’s menu has a great range of fall flavors and drink types. There is a drink for everyone.
On Aug. 28, Dunkin’ released their fall drinks: Iced Dunkalatte, Pumpkin Spice Iced Signature Latte and Almond Spice Iced Coffee. Dunkin’ has significantly fewer drinks than Starbucks. For fall flavors, they are limited to pumpkin and almond cold beverages only.
Although Dunkin’s prices are cheaper—a medium latte standing at $2.39—Starbucks gives you more bang for your buck, standing at $3.65 for a grande latte. For starters, the cup sizes are a bit bigger at Starbucks—a grande cup is 16 ounces while a Dunkin medium cup is 14. Starbucks drinks are also usually bolder and richer in flavor than Dunkin.
In my opinion, the Starbucks fall menu is the better choice. There are more options and it’s more likely that you will find a drink for you. Not only do they have a better variety of flavors, they also have a greater assortment of types of drinks.
