“I’m passionate about the issue of sexism. It takes place in everyday life and it involves so many different people. The stigma around it would definitely be that it somehow doesn’t exist and that it doesn’t happen. I believe that’s wrong because it happens everyday to a lot of people and it affects so many. There are stereotypes for both men and women and what they’re supposedly suppose to be and how they’re suppose to act which I don’t think is accurate. Not everyone is the same so there’s sexism against women because we are thought to be not as strong or as intelligent, and masculinity for boys is an issue as well because they are thought to be strong and athletic, which is not always the case. It affects me personally because it keeps me from doing certain things because someone will believe that I am not able just because I am a girl. If we stop looking at sexism as a “thing” and people as objects, and we all together stop stereotyping men and women we can help put an end to it.”
