“My mom was addicted to prescription drugs for four and half to five years and alcohol for almost as long as I’ve been alive. It was really hard transitioning into a normal life because I lived in a poor household, with an abusive parent and a drug abuse parent. Having an allowance, chores and actual responsibilities other than taking care of your mom. So it was really hard adjusting to living a normal life again.”
