“This year I enrolled in International Baccalaureate (IB) biology, IB English, IB Chemistry and IB Spanish. I believe that everyone can benefit from taking IB classes. Becoming a better communicator is probably one of the most significant benefits. I have experienced this first hand and have seen that overtime my communication skills have gotten much better. IB classes also bring together a whole community of studious students and staff members who all care and relate to one another. IB classes can be very intense and for me, both the curriculum and putting yourself out there are the hardest aspects of being in them. The curriculum is definitely more difficult compared to the normal level and Advanced Placement classes that I took in sophomore year. Also, I think putting yourself out there is a hard aspect because with IB classes you really have to gather a better understanding of the subject in order to succeed. I personally appreciate the IB teachers and students who are self aware of the pressure that is equally put onto the students.” -junior Josie Xiong
