Most people love a good deal on clothes and not everyone is looking for electronics, so why not shop on Cyber Monday rather than Black Friday? It’s called Cyber Monday because of the online sale usually taking place or starting on the first Monday after Thanksgiving.
The Cyber Monday sales were originally meant to last just on the Monday after Thanksgiving, but sometimes retailers extend it, typically for a week. According to Lifewire’s blog “What Is Cyber Monday?,” the extension allows customers to think over what they want with less pressure than a shorter timeframe would allow.
One aspect that differs between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is how their sales are focused. Black Friday prioritizes electronics while Cyber Monday prioritizes apparel.
One of Cyber Monday’s greatest strengths is shopping for apparel. According to nationwide.com, some websites offer as much as 60% off different types of wear like shoes and clothes. Another thing mentioned is that shipping may be heavily discounted or even free as apparel costs much less than other holiday shopping.
As Cyber Monday starts after Black Friday, the Cyber Monday sale typically ends after Black Friday’s, which leads to having more time to think over a purchase or purchases. For example with Target: the Black Friday sale starts and you can visit the store to see the deals in-person. If you don’t make a purchase within the Black Friday sale window, Cyber Monday allows you to have a bit more extra time to think over and buy a product.
Cyber Monday has many great benefits that you wouldn’t get with a physical store. Cyber Monday lets you come back later to shop and not have to run around putting everything back if you decide not to buy a product, and usually lets you shop longer than Black Friday because of to the different starting times. Cyber Monday has a focus on apparel which has more options to choose from compared to the electronics focus of Black Friday.
