People of Fenton: Freshman Erin Bryson

Delaney Bryson, Writer

“I went to Tennessee with my mom, aunt, and sisters to see the eclipse in totality. It took seven hours to get there and we stopped and stayed in a hotel in the mountains on the way there. When we first got there, we did not have enough special glasses for all of us to watch the eclipse with, but we ended up buying them for $10 each from a guy selling them on the side of the road. After that, we had to wait for about five hours for the eclipse to actually start, and it was really hot and humid. In the end, though, it was worth it. Before we went, I kept hearing people say that in totality, it would seem like night time in the middle of the day. I did not think much of it, because I just kept thinking, ‘if I wanted to see night time, then I would go outside at night.’ But it turned out to be super cool. When the sun started to get covered up, crickets started chirping, all the frogs started making noises and even the streetlights came on. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and my family and I are already planning a trip to go see the next one in Niagara Falls in 2024.”
