Student council members visit Cedar Point

Going 120 mph down the track, freshman Kylie Schramke enjoys one of her favorite rides at Cedar Point: The Dragster. Ten members of Student Council attended a trip to Cedar Point on May 28 for their final event of the school year.

The trip was so much fun,” Schramke said. “My favorite part was forcing myself to ride the Dragster. I was scared at first but I’m so glad I did it. It’s one of my favorite rides, along with the Gatekeeper. The Dragster goes 420 feet in just a few seconds, and it is such an adrenaline rush.”

Spending a day in the sun, Student Council members were able to enjoy a day with friends and relieve stress from school.

“I feel like the trip was worth it,” freshman Paris Whitney said. “Even though the ride there was long, it was fun to have a break from school and just to have fun with my friends. I loved riding the rides and walking around with them.”

The Cedar Point trip was part of Fenton’s membership in the Flint Metro League Student Council which conducts meetings every other month. Although not all Metro Leagues were able to attend, the trip allowed students to experience the thrill of Cedar Point and bond outside of school.
