Varsity boys soccer team getting pumped for Metros

The varsity boys soccer team won its Sept 29 game against the Holly Bronchos, 4-2. The boys’ record is now 6-6.

“We played better than usual,” senior Ivan Boedecker said. “We stuck as a team, and even though we slacked a little at the end, letting in two goals, this game put us closer to our goal for winning the Metros.”

The boys are half way into their season and still facing challenges.

“We have a new system this year,” senior Tim Geib said. “This is a different formation and we have had to adapt from previous years.”

As part of the pre-game process, the coach helps prepare the boys by getting them pumped.

“He gives us the Blue Collar Speech,” Boedecker said. “You don’t have any wolves players, but a hard working team.”

Teamwork is an important aspect that comes into play. The team has focused close on and off the field.

“Our team is definitely close,” Boedecker said. “Our brothership is very strong.”

The team has only a couple games left, and they are working toward Metros.

“We progressively get better every game,” Boedecker said. “We can win the Metros if we all play as a team.”
