The girls varsity softball team proudly announced their win after beating one of their biggest competitors last Monday, April 27.

During the first game, the score in the last inning stood in Kearsley’s favor. This score might have had the spectators expecting a loss for the Tigers.

“We were down 4-3 going into the seventh inning and we were able to tie it up,” senior Paige Dean said. “Then Brenna Hatch hit a walk off home run to win the game. The second game we won 1-0 in the seventh inning as well, both games were really exciting”

Pulling the team from a tied game with no points, senior Katey Cairnduff hits a single to win the game.

“I wasn’t hitting very good that game so to finally get a hit and one that actually mattered was really rewarding,” Cairnduff said. “We knew Kearsley was good and to win the metro, which is one of our team goals, we needed to win both of those games.”

All students and community members, be sure to come see the Tigers play today, May 7 against Novi.
