NHS hosts Stuff the Bus

NHS is encouraging students to donate items to  “Stuff the Bus”, an annual canned and nonperishable food drive that donates the proceeds to people in the community who are in need.

“Stuff the bus focuses on giving back to the community,” senior co-chair Macie Keller said. “It’s surprising how many people are in need (in the community) just down the street or around the corner.”

Stuff the Bus is put on every year by Fenton’s Rotary club and The Fenton Kiwanis, and the NHS brought it upon themselves to get the whole school involved with the fundraiser.

“Since Thanksgiving is this month, we as an organization are truly thankful for everything we have,” senior chair Griffin Carr said. “We want to be able to give to those who are not as fortunate as us [NHS].”

There will be two dates to bring items to help “stuff the bus”, the first being Nov 8 and the second being Nov 15.

“On Nov 8 from 9am-4pm, we will be collecting donations of food items at VG’s on North Leroy St,” senior co-chair Griffin Carr said. “Then, on Nov 15 from 9am -4pm, we will be doing the same at the VG’s on Silver Parkway. Anyone is welcome to come help and donate food or money.”
