Girls basketball has two games in the upcoming week on Dec 1 facing Howell and Dec 4 at Hartland. These games are the start to the new season for all three levels.

“We’ve been practicing very hard these past few weeks,” senior Madison Shegos said. “The game is forever changing so I’m not to sure how it will turn out in the end. But when it comes to the Howell game, we know that they have a really good post in the inside that we are hoping to stop. We are going to have fun and energetic games.”

The JV team is expecting nothing less than the varsity team.

“My JV team is full of spirit and aggression from what I have seen so far,” coach Matt Sullivan said. “In these upcoming games we are going to bring a fight. My girls are very feisty this year I have seen this in practices. I feel that we are going to great in these games.”

The teams have been hard at work to prepare for these games, working on their shots and perfecting plays.

“The JV team is very dominate and diverse,” junior Madeleine Welch said. “I feel that in these upcoming games, we will show how we work as a team just like we have in practice. We are going to have to work hard on shooting to win in the games so we can score the most points of the two teams playing on the basketball court.”

The freshman are still figuring out what to expect for these games. The players are waiting for the start of their high school basketball careers.

“We are still getting in the groove of things,” freshman Hanna Chapin said. “I’m expecting with more time and practice we can go out with confidence for the games.”

The two games start at about 7 both nights. The next home game is Dec 8 against Lapeer.
