Holiday performance returns before break

While most of the school was rowdy with cheer, thoughts of winter break in their heads, the school got together one last time before the end of 2016 to kick off the holidays. Everyone gathered in the gym during SRT for a Christmas concert performed by the jazz band, the Ambassadors, Varsity Vocals and Bella Voce choirs.

“From a performance perspective I think the concert went very well,” sophomore Emily Hayes said. “The array of music that was played and the balance between band and choir was really good and all in all that seemed fine. From a viewers’ point, I heard a lot of people say they enjoyed it.”

Many band and choir students got to experience either sing or play an instrument but Hayes and her fellow peer senior Bronson Kelly got to encounter both.

“I think in total it went really well,” Kelly said. “It was fun going back and forth between singing and playing while it also added a new dynamic. It was really different going back and forth because they’re two totally different things but they were both independently fun. Just playing in general, it’s always fun enjoying music.”

Audience members recall their favorite part of the concert, as they got to watch their peers perform for the entire school and faculty.

“Having the entire school come together before Christmas was really cool,” freshman Ricky Giltrop said. “I’ve never been to a band concert or seen them perform so it was cool to get to watch them.”
