Destiny Hilliker, Writer

Senior Destiny Hilliker begins her first year as a writer for the Fenton InPrint. Outside of school, she is a competitive dancer. She also has a part-time job working at Buffalo Wild Wings. After high school, she plans to become a medical assistant and in the future seek an education to become an interior designer and real estate agent.

“Boxing has helped make me the person I am today more than anything else. I started boxing in middle school to learn how to defend myself and become more confident in myself. Eventually I went to an actual boxing gym and it was all uphill from there. I got my first fight and just slowly fell more and more in love with the sport. I’ve learned a lot through boxing, the big thing was learning to be able to push myself to new levels as an athlete and a person. “Jane Goodall is my biggest inspiration. She is a famous primatologist. I idolize her because I also want to be a primatologist. In the 1960’s when she was in her early twenties, she explored the Congo as a young woman to study chimps, she was one of the first women to do that.
