“Cheer is a very big part of my life. I was a bit anxious joining the team at first, but it has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made. My teammates encourage and push me to be the best version of myself inside and out of cheer. I picked up stunting and tumbling really fast when I joined and I enjoy doing both immensely. Despite being nervous at first, being the only boy is actually really fun, and is a great experience. Everyone on the team is very accepting and sweet. I don’t regret joining at all and it has shifted my life in a positive way.” -junior Alex Brelin

"Basketball is my passion. It's my passion because it has made me the person I am today, it has taught me countless life lessons, and has given me lots of time to find myself. Basketball has given me many of the positive people I have in my life now." -senior Lauren Gangwer (far left)

“I got really into tennis as well as playing the tuba in multiple ensembles. Strangely enough I’ve grown to really like math. I like to think of it as a problem solving class rather than just numbers and letters. I am currently in Geometry. When I graduate high school I want to be an architect, so knowing how to find measurements is a good skill and something necessary for that career. I like to draw buildings and spaces and I really like how my ideas can be put in the real world as something people will see or use every day.” - sophomore Ian Mills

“I have been playing tennis since freshman year. I enjoy the sport so much because I like being outside and exercising. It feels really good to improve my skills every year and I take private lessons during the off season. I also like tennis because the girls of the team are fun to be around. It is not just about winning, it is also about teamwork and having fun.” -senior Mary Borg

“If I only had one more week to live, I would find a good place and go hiking. A mountainous area outside of the United States, like in South America; the old Incan empire, Machu Picchu. I could be alone there. It would be a tranquil moment before I die. I think something about hiking gives you a sense of personal fulfillment. There is great solitude in nature that allows you to really get a chance to reflect.” - senior Dominic Krusniak

“If COVID-19 were to end today, there are a few things I would want to do. I really want to do the winter drumline again this year. I would be able to go to my dance recital too and watch my older sister get her 15-year award for dance. I would be able to have a ski season and a normal school day. I could hang out with my friends without having to wear a mask or constantly have to worry about spreading something.”
