People of Fenton: Sophomore Tommy Lockwood

“Something I’m passionate about is flipping, and doing tricks (parkour) because I find it interesting. It’s not something very many people are interested in. Many people think you have to do sports to be athletic or what they think is “cool.” I think anything you’re passionate about should be what is cool. You shouldn’t have to do that. You can do other athletic stuff. People’s initial response to parkour is that it’s hard but it’s not necessarily a sport. It’s something that majority of schools don’t have a team for. I’ve only been flipping for a few months now. I want to keep on practicing 100 percent. It’s easy to do so because it’s not like other sports where you have to be on the field or anything. It’s unique because you can practice anywhere.”
