Celebrate Hispanic Heritage month with entertainment inspired by the culture

Olivia Diesch, Features Editor

Hispanic Americans make up roughly a fifth of the United States population, yet they only make up roughly two percent of  characters in American media. Hispanic Heritage Month is looking to change that. This month long festival spans from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, and aims to celebrate anyone of Spanish, Mexican, Central American, South American or Caribbean descent.

Celebrations take place throughout the entire month, and include: parades, art exhibits, music festivals, film festivals, and food tasting events. Hispanic Heritage Month is the time to discover and get fully immersed in Hispanic culture.
