The 2020-2021 school year is different from previous years. Fenton Area Public Schools (FAPS) have worked to ensure all FHS students have the smallest risk of contracting COVID-19 when returning to face-to-face schooling.

Face-to-face Learning was part of Fenton Area Public Schools Return to Learn Plan that was adopted & approved by the Fenton Area Public Schools’ Board of Education on Aug. 10,” Principal Laura Lemke said.

As winter gets closer, COVID-19 cases have been rising. This has been evident throughout the COVID-19 dashboard made for the district at Fenton Dashboard. Other district’s cases have been rising as well, including Linden and Lake Fenton schools according to the Linden Dashboard and Lake Fenton Dashboard

FAPS total positive cases are lower than the districts surrounding Fenton, and less people have been quarantined, proving the effectiveness of the Return to Learn Plan.

The “second wave” of COVID-19 cases are already rising rapidly, according to the Wall Street Journal. FAPS must be extra cautious to ensure the continuation of F2F learning.
