Tess DeGayner, Writer

When people think of cancer they think of death. That is not always true and my mom is living proof. It can happen to anyone and it can be beaten.

Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. Breast cancer receives the most amount of donations of any other cancer. Donations are used to spread awareness and help medical research.

Millions of people across the country have helped donate and raise awareness for medical research on breast cancer. There are a variety of events that take place all over to raise money. FHS held their own fundraiser for breast cancer: “Volley for a Cure”.Together, girls volleyball and boys soccer raised a total of $3,700.
