This past Summer, the former Red Fox Outfitters was replaced with RailYard Fenton— a venue including a bar, five different restaurants and plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. It’s located at 234 N Leroy St. The venue opened June 20, and since, RailYard bustles with families and friends each night.
The venue is made up of its main building including the bar plus Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria. There are also activities like billiards, bocce, shuffleboard, arcade games and much more. For those 21 and older, RailYard offers a self-serve beer wall that is uniquely “pay by the ounce.” The outside of the venue includes the remaining four restaurants: Smash House Gourmet, Salad Fever, Wolf Ranger Tex Mex and Little Lou’s Hot Chicken. RailYard is now a staple of Fenton’s community.
“Imagine a vibrant, all-in-one dining destination where diverse culinary options meet family fun,” Smash House Gourmet General ManagerChristy Hubbard said. “The RailYard is designed for enjoyment; featuring interactive games, themed decor and activities that cater all ages.”
RailYard is primarily known for its enjoyment for all ages.
“Whether you’re here for a casual meal or a full family outing,” Hubbard said, “the dynamic environment ensures that every visit is a memorable and entertaining experience for everyone.”
The restaurants are small and have minimal space for multiple employees.
“Working in tight quarters can be difficult, but we all learned over time how to work together and do our jobs quickly and efficiently,” Smash House Gourmet Cashier and Expediter senior Addi Mills said. “We receive upwards of 300 orders a day, so we have to ensure that we’re doing our best work, fast and accurately.”
Smash House is owned by Dean Dingman, Josh Ingersoll and Justin Knight. Ingersoll also owns SERVPRO, and Knight also owns Corner Bar. Inside management is run by Jim Sutherland.
With an abundance of customers, RailYard exceeded the expectations of the owners and management.
“The RailYard is much more than anyone expected it to be. The concept was always fun, unique and neat for the area, but we had no idea that the RailYard was going to become a destination rather than a local establishment,” Sutherland said. “We get people from all over the state, even out of state. This venue really became a place to go rather than a place to be.”
RailYard is a venue that can be enjoyed at any age. Whether you come with family, friends, coworkers or even flying solo, RailYard’s reviews reflect a great experience.
