It’s common for students to struggle with figuring out what career they want to pursue. For these students or any student who wants ideas for their future career, there is a field trip put on by the Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce to aid in deciding.
According to Coordinator of Career and College Readiness Programs Lindsay Grady, the Young Women and Men & the Workforce field trips offered at Fenton High, Linden High and Lake Fenton High are offered to show students a look into careers they may be interested in.
“The event(s) goal is to inspire and educate high school students about career opportunities, professional development, the impact of social media, personal branding, and future career aspirations,” Grady said. “This is an awesome opportunity for Fenton students to speak with and learn from local business professionals.”
The flyer for Young Women & the Workforce field trip states that it takes place March 7, 2025. According to Grady, the field trip will feature a full-day trip where 8-10 students sit with a professional from various career fields who will share their educational and career experiences.
The Young Men & the Workforce field trip took place earlier in the school year on Dec. 6, but happens annually. According to Grady, the field trip featured the same full-day trip where students listened to professionals in different fields.
