As the top 60 bowlers in state come together in Canton, Michigan to compete at the Division II individual tournament, senior John Cryderman earned the right to go to the tournament on March 5, where he placed 17th in the state.

“I missed getting to the top 16 by at least two pins in my overall total,” Cryderman said. “Last year, I missed moving on by 30 pins off of my total, so I still exceeded my personal expectations and I feel really good about myself for that.”

Cryderman is the first Fenton bowler to attend the state tournament and has attended the state tournament in 2015 and in 2016.

“I normally average around 215 points per game,” Cryderman said. “In the beginning, I started off doing well, but then I kind of dropped off as the matches continued. I’m still happy with my result, and I do plan on bowling after high school so the result was just fine.”

Cryderman will be bowling for the SVSU collegiate team.
