“I went to Peru and Guatemala last summer. I went to Guatemala on a mission trip and stayed at an orphanage and volunteered for a week at different feeding centers. It taught me a lot about my faith and how grateful I am for everything I've been given in life and shown me not to take anything for granted. After that, we went to Peru because we have a lot of family there. It was absolutely amazing being able to see where my mom came from and experience all of these places that she told me about when I was little. I got to meet so many of my relatives and see what their lives are like and how life there is so different than it is here. I learned more about my culture and see all of these amazing places that i’ve only seen pictures of. They were both life-changing trips that I'll never forget." - senior Jessie Bright

"The talent show was a very weird experience for me. It was the first time I have gotten involved within the school besides choir and what prompted me to do it was my brother, he did Mr. fenton when he was in high school. I want to live up to his expectations and follow in his footsteps. So when I first tried out, I was super worried but once I sang riptide and played my ukulele on show night, I did great and all of those butterflies went away. I’ve been singing since the second grade." - junior Darien Fishwick

“I started acting in the third grade after my brother asked me to be a gosling in the FHS Theatre Department's production of Charlotte's Web. From then on I was hooked and I was in at least one production a year since then. My favorite production so far would be Columbinus because we tackled such a pressing issue and that was my first time being in a large acting position.” - senior Joe Fleck

“We are hanging up marigolds for our spanish class. We watched the movie CoCo because we are learning about the Day of the dead. The flowers represent what families used to put on the graves, also known as the ofrendas, that would supposedly allow them to cross over to the land of the dead to see their dead family members. This concept is interesting to me because we don’t do anything like that in American culture besides funerals.” - freshman Isaiah Plumley

“I love big cities. California is one big city I’ve never visited but always wanted to go to. One reason I’ve always wanted to go is because of how much I like the beach. Going to the beach has always been a fun thing for me to do with my friends and family. It’s always been a hope of mine to go to Hollywood Boulevard and see the Hollywood sign.” - sophomore Aiden Dunker

“When I was eight I thought it would be a fun challenge to start pursuing acting. I joined KTK, Kidz Theater Kompany, a part of the Fenton Village Players. I now participate in acting at the Starlight theater in Waterford. I recently played the role of Scar in the “Lion King”. I love acting because it’s a one fun way I can further express myself. I love taking on the challenges of the roles that I'm given.” - sophomore Ava LaFayette
