This school year, FHS introduced new student resource officer, Jordan Grace. Grace was a Vice Sargent in Detroit before beginning a new chapter in his law enforcement career. With seven years of experience in the police force, this is Officer Grace’s first year working in a school environment.

“My wife grew up in this area and she loves it,” Grace explained, “so we moved out here and I applied for this position.”

Just a few weeks into the school year, Grace expressed his fondness for Fenton High.

“I love it, everyone is super nice here,” Grace said. “It’s a great community and everyone always seems so positive.”

Grace’s main goal at FHS is to spread positivity. He says he wants to “continue with being positive, building relationships and letting people know that police are just here to help and, hopefully, make people’s days better.

“I like meeting new people and helping people out,” Grace said, “Usually we see people on their worst days and it’s cool to be able to turn that around— hopefully”.

Officer Grace does more than serve for the city. He explains that he also likes to play basketball and cook. Grace even lived in a different country at one point of his life.

“I speak Spanish,” Grace said. “I studied it in college and actually taught English in Chile for a year.”

Grace’s main goal is to spread positivity at FHS. With this thought in mind, he is filled with motivational words and quotes. In his wallet, Grace keeps a metal plate engraved with a quote from “Alice in Wonderland:” “She drank from a bottle called ‘Drink Me’ and she grew so tall that she ate from a plate called ‘Taste Me’ and down she shrinks so small. And so she changed while other folks never tried nothing at all.”

“It was a gift, I’ve had it for probably 15 years,” Grace said of the plate. “It encourages you to get out of your comfort zone, try different things and grow as a person.”

Grace has an office located in the main office where he can be found periodically through the day. If he’s not there, he advises anyone who wants to get a hold of him to leave a note on his desk or send him an email at [email protected].
