As Winter arrives, one of Fenton’s biggest family restaurants and atmospheres, The RailYard, will be closing their four outdoor restaurants for winter. The RailYard will be temporarily shutting down these outdoor restaurants for the coming winter months because of the cold weather. Although the outdoor environment will be shutting down, the business will still be open for all ages.
The RailYard opened in June at 234 N Leroy St. This venue can appeal to all audiences with diverse food options for picky eaters and for those 21 or over, a unique self-serve beer wall with 21 different types of beer paid by the ounce.
During the warmer months, there are four outdoor restaurants. As of Oct 26, these restaurants were closed for the season. The restaurants include: Smash House Gourmet, Salad Fever, Wolf Ranger Tex Mex and Little Lou’s Hot Chicken. The RailYard still offers several pulls such as their unique bar, Crispelli’s Pizza and arcade, as well as bar games. The venue can hold many people and is a kid friendly dinner destination with plenty of games and activities for children.
“Initially, RailYard wasn’t sure about what they were going to do about the restaurants during the cold months,” senior Molly Dixon, who worked at Smash House Gourmet during the season, said. “We found out that our job was essentially seasonal in early September. It’s definitely for the best, though, considering that the shipping containers we were working in didn’t have temperature control, making the temperature inside the workspace whatever it was outside.”
Although the four outdoor restaurants of the RailYard are closing temporarily, the venue is still open for the remaining winter months as a bar, restaurant and entertainment venue.
