“I am a pretty competitive person and playing cards fulfills that part of me. Cards are really cool if you think about it because there are so many different games you play with just 52 little pieces of paper. Also, I grew up playing card games with my family so card games have become a little sentimental to me.” - sophomore Ceci Dockins

“The reason I went into Ambassadors was that you could say something like my friends convinced me to audition for Ambassadors and I knew a lot of people in the group already and with having music experience in a band it made me want to just go for it. It helped me transition better into the group.” - senior Autumn Decker

“If I could go back in time I would go to the 1960s. In my opinion, that was the best era for music. Artists like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr changed the world of music. Their soft lyrics and Vegas aura were unique and never seen before. These artists are laced with your family: my mother grew up listening to them and therefore I grew up listening to them and appreciating the beauty and diversity behind their works. Listening to these artists is one avenue my family bonds over. I have 75 albums total of old music and a turntable with speaker and amplifier. Coming home from a stressful day and just being able to put an album on the player always calms me down.” - senior Jaden Lainesse

“I would say my heroes are my friends. They have the ability to make me laugh and smile. I think because we are going through the same things, senior year, family stuff, and big changes coming, we’ve been able to understand and sympathize with one another, bringing us all even closer. I can go to them for something serious, but we can always laugh together, too. What really makes them my heroes is their ability to motivate me, comfort me and laugh with me.” - senior Sarah Lowell

“I believe in always helping others and being selfless in general. I never try to focus on myself all that much, instead I try to see how I can make things better for everyone. It probably stems from my beliefs: I am Christian. I just try to see what’s important to me. Through recent years, a lot of my friends have been having hard times and I make an effort to give them attention. Sometimes, it’s not about just asking what’s wrong, but trying to hang out with them and be there to show them that life is still good and that things will get better once they get past what they’re going through. Show them that they can be happy, make them laugh, be silly together.” - junior Luke Snowaert

“The greatest life lesson I’ve learned is that you have to work really hard for what you want. When I was little, my parents always told me how hard I have to work if I really want to be successful. As a kid I never really understood that until high school when I started to really work hard in the classroom and at sports practices and workouts. I feel like I give myself the greatest chance to be great at something if I really work hard and try my best.” - sophomore Connor Luck
