Graduation is set to take place on May 22 at 6:30 p.m. indoors in the FHS Main Gym.
In recent years, the school has set two plans for graduation, with the final decision based on weather to be made in the days leading up to the event.
“The process for deciding if we are inside or outside is a matter of the weather,” Principal Michael Bakker said. “Not just for the day of the actual graduation.”
Although the ceremony doesn’t start until 6:30, doors open for guests at 5:30 p.m. Graduates should report to the Auxiliary Gym at 6 p.m. to line up.
When graduation is held indoors, the school sets up a big stage, chairs for the graduates and the parents and visitors sit in the bleachers on either side of the gym.
Project graduation, a party thrown on by the parents of the school for the graduates, will take place later the same night at 9 p.m at AGS. Project graduation will go on until 2:30 the following morning.
