Work is currently underway for the Veteran’s Memorial at Fenton Freedom Park, located within the triangle of West Shiawassee Avenue, West Elizabeth Street and Park Street.  This addition is honoring those who have served in the Fenton community. For more information regarding the history behind this space, visit fentonveteransmemorial.com.

Prior to ground breaking, the City of Fenton set a dedication date for the memorial of Nov. 11 of this year. For various reasons, outlined by the city here, Fenton decided to move the opening date to a more meaningful day for the veterans. The new memorial is now set to open Memorial Day in 2024.

According to Fentonveteran’smemorial.com, the park will consist of a Veterans pathway, memorial bricks, sponsor area, a statue and a wall honoring the United States Military.

There are two ways to purchase a brick. The first is simply buying the brick and the second being sponsoring or donating. To purchase or donate click here. In addition to the bricks, service medallions and flag poles are available for sponsorship.
